In honor of Macy's "Brasil: A Magical Journey" Campaign, Francisco Costa, the name behind the designer brand Calvin Klein line, has collaborated with Macy's to produce a limited edition dress capsule collection for this new spring campaign. Set to launch on May 15th, his collection will be the first of several (including Rachel Roy and Carlos Falchi) to be produced for Macy's as part of this campaign. The capsule stays true to the Calvin Klein minimalist designs with structured sheaths, maxis, and tank dresses in colors of guava, orange clay, warm cocoa, marble, cement, steel, iron and black.
"For this line, I think that the warm colors — like clay, guava and cocoa — remind me the most of Brazil and really complement the light and soft nature of the crepe and jersey fabrics," the native Brazilian says in his press release.

Rather than showing alot of skin or grabbing attention with loud colors, Costa says, his aesthetic for the $135-$180 collection is more "about ease, freedom and sensuality."
"It's really more about the sensibility and a freedom and comfortable confidence that reflects Brazilian culture and style," he says. "This was just a perfect opportunity, because I have always been interested in designing a more accessible, affordable line to reach a much broader customer base." Costa via press release

Thoughts??? I enjoy the collaborations between high-end designers and department stores.
The guava dress in the first photo really has my attention. I will be interested to see more of the non-black dresses!
(Is it just me or does the model in the steel colored dress resemble Teri Hatcher?)
Yes I totally agree one of the models does look like Teri Hatcher! Calvin Klein has so many lines, but his Collection is the best.
ReplyDeletelove that guava dress, too! I will have to check this line out.
ReplyDeleteI always love a good collaboration and think these pieces are exceptional :)
