As is typical for me in late July, I have begun my obsession with fall clothes.  So, I thought I would take a slight break from typical summer posts, and share my first musings into fall looks. 

Rossella Jardini hit pre-fall with two prints from the Moschino archives: a brick wall pattern and a spray-painted graffiti one...very urban, street flair. Also forefront were versatile suiting separates, glam evening looks, and gold plated rock-n-roll jewelry.  A little something for everyone, in my opinion.  Take a look and let me know your thoughts...

On Trend: Layered Skirts

We all love the peplum and tiered skirt looks that have been on fire over the last several months.  For those of you who may feel overwhelmed by these styles or who crave a new alternative, how about the layered skirt?  I like to think of it as the sister to the peplum and tiered skirts :)  I have received emails and read articles about the bulky, and sometimes unflattering, look of peplum and tiered skirts on certain body types.  Some women love the multi-layer skirt concept but shy away from peplum and tiered skirts for these reasons.  The layered skirt alternative provides a similar feel but with a more flattering appeal.

The layered skirt look can be achieved in a couple of different ways (depending on your creativity and comfort level).  The most conservative option would be a second layer of fabric under the outer layer which either peeks out from the hemline or is attached just under the hemline.  For those slightly more adventurous (which are most of my readers), try wearing two completely different skirts of different lengths on top of each other or wearing a skirt over a dress.  Fashion blogger, Megan, of  The Frugalista Diaries , is an expert at creating this type of look! :)
