Although I live in Texas and have very little opportunity to wear heavy coats, leather jackets and capes are an occasional option.  I had my eye on the "it" camel cape from Banana Republic, but because of the hot weather I wasn't able to convince myself to purchase it, and of course it is now sold out.  Can you say, "buyer's remorse"?!  So, I started scouring other cape options and discovered so many inspiring looks in capes...

I prefer the sleeker, simpler looks with minimal hardware and the figure flattering effect of the belted styles.  I could see changing out the belt for different looks.  Are you a fan of capes for fall?  I would love to hear your thoughts!

Mixed Media Leather and Lace

Leather and lace are always a popular fall combination.  As much as I enjoy mixing leather and lace separates, I am loving the mixed media look of leather and lace this fall.  There is something interesting about the dichotomy of the delicate, ultra femininity of lace and the tougher, more rugged leather being combined into one garment.  Could it be that good girl/bad girl vibe?  We are seeing lace sleeves on leather tops, leather sleeves on lace shirts, lace cutouts in leatherlike leggings, half leather / half lace dresses, and lace laser cut leather...just to name a few.   Take a look at some inspiration and a few of my in store favorites...
