My Dad: The Most Special Man

On Father's Day, this post honors the man who has been my rock for my entire life.

My Dad holding my niece Olivia on the day she was born (2011)

As a little girl I saw this handsome man who was perfect in every way.  He had ALL the answers and instinctively knew the right thing to say at any moment.  As I got older I realized he may not have ALL the answers but he is still perfect to me.

He showed me...

... the importance of God and prayer
... the importance of good morals which I value to this day
... the importance of respect
... the importance of family
... the importance of saying "I love you"

I remember...

... the nights that he helped me with my math homework

... the late nights building models for my science fair projects

... the Friday evenings standing on the end of the grocery cart as he wheeled it through the store, after which he let me stay up late to watch The Rockford Files with him (hearing the theme song still chokes me up)

... the summer vacations in Wildwood /Cape May riding the ocean waves while testing how far we could wade out without hearing the lifeguard whistle

... the times that he left work early so that he could watch my afternoon track meets.  In his suit and tie, there he would be standing along the fence :)

... the times we would disagree over the definition of a word and pull out the dictionary (yes, the hardbound dictionary, not a cell phone or the computer) to see who got it right (usually ME - that's for you, dad)

This list could go on and on...

Support...
He has supported me in every way humanly possible, and when it comes to my blog, he has read every post from the beginning.  He has little interest in fashion related subjects, be he continues to follow and support my passion.  This post is for you, Dad, and I know you are reading it!

My Dad...
